OK, now for a bit of my twisted sense of humor. These are some of the frequently asked questions from message boards, mine or others, and email. This time with a totally inappropriate answer, or what I'd really like to say, but hopefully good for a chuckle. If you see a question you asked or are thinking of asking, don't get bent, this page is for fun only.
Q
All in all, this sounds really bad to me. Any
suggestions on what I should do now?
She finally admitted to me that the neighbors mower was 2 stroke. So basically she put a gas/oil mixture into the tank that required straight gas.
Is this the cause of the mower now not starting?
If so, what must I do to get it running again..besides getting rid of girlfriend.
Is there a way to recover from this condition other
then getting a new engine?
I have a Toro 13 HP that somehow the oil is full of
gas?? Any Ideas??
A

engine, model 422707, type 121401, code 9405195A. The battery is fully charged. When I turn the ignition

Q
Hi all,
I have a 5 HP Techumseh engine that is about two
years old. Today while I was mowing some particularly heavy grass, the engine started to make a metallic
rattling noise at about the speed of the engine RPM,
then it quit. Furthermore, I noticed oil in coming out the air intake.
Thanks.
A
Bury it.

I have a Model 281707, Type 041101 V-280, Code 89080911. I had to get a short block, hence the V-280, but I am having trouble adjusting the governor. Where do I place the governor shaft and the lever?
A
If I told you where to place the shaft and lever I'd be arrested.

The next question is for my buddy Al who works the counter and had some knuckle head ask this.
Q

Q
How do I drain the oil on a 4 cycle B&S motor? Where
is the drain located? Thanks,
A
Oil? You're supposed to put oil in them things?
LMRM; Bob :<=
Friends thought they were helping out when they tried to start our Sears B&S lawn mower to cut the grass.
Unfortunatly they filled the oil to the top and oil
was gushing out of everything. The air filter, the
oil cap, not a good sign.
Thanks for your help.
A
Friends don't let friends use their mower.

Smoking more now but getting high less? Try Acapulco Gold Filters.

A
Oh yeah, Dr Kervorkian killed it and now wants me to make it all better.
or
Lawn Boy? That's not P.C.!

A
Place left hand on engine control lever and engage. Place right hand on starter rope grip and.....pull.

Hmm, let's see. B&S push mower. Briggs doesn't make mowers.
Ran for 1 month and 2 times. That makes sense.
Has new spark plug but you can't check for plugs. That makes sense too.
Can't get the springs off the choke, that makes a lot of sense since it has a primer. Can't have both ya know.
Since you don't know the differnce between a choke and throttle spring, why not take it to the shop and let someone who knows what they're doing, do it.

Q
I then changed the oil,(Oh) drained the carburetor,(uh-huh) drained the fuel tank,(OK) poured fresh fuel through the tank to clear any debris,(was there?) cleaned the fuel strainer with Gumout,(sure) removed air cleaner housing,(why?) cleaned air cleaner and housing,(clue!) sprayed carb barrel with Gumout,(who put the gum in there?) verified function of throttle,(function verified) and checked the gap on spark plug (.030).(WONDERFUL)
I don't know what else to do.
I just got a used gas mower.I know it needs oil but I don't know where to put it. Do Imix it with the gas?
NOTE: No response was given. Several days later, this.
Just found the answer to the problem with the Lawn Boy mower. The exhaust was extemely carboned up and almost totally blocked. After extensive cleaning, it runs like new. Hope this helps someone else having the same problem.
1995 Honda Harmony self-propelled push mower. In the low gear self-propulsion slips. In the fast gear it won't engage at all. Is there an adjustment that I can make to correct this myself?
A
Until you've figured out whether it's a self propelled or a push, wear golf shoes for better traction.

Q
While mowing, the engine quit. I believe it was out of gas. You aren't certain? I checked the tank, it was empty and I refilled. With what? It would start and run strong for several seconds then die. Filled it with what?

Q
My lawn mower is locked up. Is it easy to repair?X
A
It sure is.

Q
Where do I put the Oil?
A
Q
I have a Lawn Boy model 8270, with a 2 cycle engine that starts ok, but I cannot rev to full throttle. The engine does not sputter - when the throttle is increased, the RPM's won't go up. All linkages are fine, air cleaner is good, Lawn Boy brand oil is used with the proper ratio, etc. All obvious things were tried. Could it be a problem with the reeds? Nothing is damaged down there when carb was removed. Any help much appreciated. Thanks
A
You see, no one knows all. When you claimed, "All obvious things were tried", no one responded. De-carboning the exhaust on 2 cycles is routine maintenance so it was assumed you had already done this. If the owners manual was read, oh yeah, I forgot, you threw it out with the box the mower came in.
